βTrump's $5M "Gold card" visa offers U.S. residency with a path to citizenshipβ
Big news: President Trump has announced a new βgold cardβ visa that will offer wealthy non-citizens U.S. residency for a $5 million price tag. This visa, which grants the same privileges as a green card, is expected to roll out in the next two weeks and does not require congressional approval. Trump claims the program will replace the EB-5 visa and generate trillions to help reduce national debt. However, it remains unclear how current EB-5 visa holders will be affected. βTrump orders crackdown on migrant funding, slashes regulationsβ
President Trump signed executive orders cutting federal funds for undocumented migrants and eliminating regulations deemed excessive by his administration. The new directives prevent sanctuary cities from using federal money and call for a sweeping review of agency rules, led by Elon Muskβs Department of Government Efficiency. Additionally, Trump ordered the dissolution of agencies focused on global conflict resolution and development, signaling a broader push to reshape government spending. These moves, expected to face legal challenges, mark a significant shift in federal policy under his leadership.

βDOS reduces Dropbox eligibility to 12 Monthsβ
Some bad news: The Department of State has reverted visa interview waiver ("Dropbox") eligibility to pre-COVID standards, reducing the window from 48 months to 12 months. Effective immediately, only those renewing a visa in the same category that expired within the past year qualify. This change will require more applicants to attend in-person interviews, likely increasing wait times at U.S. consulates. Visa holders should review their eligibility and plan accordingly.
