July 2025 visa bulletin: slow progress for India, China
The July 2025 visa bulletin is here... and there's little to no movement. :( Employment-based categories show minor movement, with EB-1 remaining current for most countries except India (Feb 15, 2022) and China (Nov 15, 2022) which has been stuck for a while. EB-2 India lags at Jan 1, 2013, while EB-3 India stands at April 22, 2013. All EB-4 and certain religious worker categories remain "unavailable." EB-5 is the only category that is current for Indian nationals for certain type of projects.
Trump reinstates travel ban on 12 countries
President Trump has signed a new travel ban barring entry to the U.S. for citizens of 12 countries, including Haiti, Iran, Afghanistan, and several nations in Africa and the Middle East. An additional seven countries face limited restrictions. The move marks a revival of Trump’s hardline immigration stance from his first term and has sparked concern among human rights advocates and immigrant communities. Critics argue the policy is discriminatory and could strain diplomatic relations.
Trump earns highest voter approval on immigration policies
President Trump is receiving his strongest support on immigration, with 54% of Americans backing his deportation policy, according to a new CBS News/YouGov poll. The survey was conducted just before Trump ordered National Guard troops into Los Angeles amid protests over immigration raids. The move has reignited tensions nationwide, with critics calling his approach heavy-handed and divisive.
