Judge blocks Trump’s order on birthright citizenship
Huge news: A federal judge temporarily blocked President Trump's executive order that would deny U.S. citizenship to children born to undocumented parents, calling it "blatantly unconstitutional." The judge took this step after 22 states and immigrant rights groups filed lawsuits against the order, which was seen as a direct challenge to the 14th Amendment. This ruling temporarily protects birthright citizenship, with a follow-up hearing set for February 6, 2025. H-1B registrations drop 38% with new rules
Interesting news: Registrations for the H-1B visa have fallen by 38% this year due to new rules that limit each beneficiary to only one registration, no matter how many employers apply on their behalf. Previously, employers could submit multiple registrations for the same person, which increased their chances of selection. The change aims to make the process fairer and more transparent by preventing this manipulation and ensuring that everyone has an equal shot at being selected. What are your thoughts?
USCIS Waives COVID-19 vaccination requirement for green card applicants
Good news: USCIS has announced that starting January 22, 2025, you no longer need to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination when applying for a green card. This means they won’t deny your application if you haven’t been vaccinated, and you won’t have to worry about receiving any extra requests for documents related to the vaccine.
