Why resume format can make or break your Ivy league application

Don’t treat your Ivy League application as just a form. Make it tell your story. Admissions officers skim fast, so a clean layout that highlights leadership, research, results, and your passions is essential. Keep it concise. One page for undergrad, two for grad. A sharp resume can give you a real edge. And there are a lot more tricks which you can learn.

📗 Immigration desk: Visa news, options & updates

USCIS Q3 data: O-1, EB-1A and NIW approval rate

The latest USCIS data shows some clear differences across work visas. O-1 approvals are still strong at 94%, even as more people apply. EB-1A and EB-2 NIW approvals, however, are slipping, 66.6 percent for EB-1A and 54% for NIW, likely because cases are being reviewed more closely. Pending EB-1As are piling up, and fewer people are filing for NIWs. Strong applications and clear evidence matter more than ever if you want to get through.

$100K H-1B fee could hit universities and foreign grad students hard

The Trump administration’s $100,000 H-1B fee and new rules favoring older workers threaten U.S. universities’ ability to hire international faculty and retain foreign grad students. Large programs face budget strain, declining enrollment, and talent gaps. Even with possible exemptions, the U.S. risks losing top researchers to other countries.

💫 Founder's corner: Resources, capital & growth hacks

Mixed teams of Immigrants and U.S. born founders outperform

Startups with both immigrant and U.S. born founders outperform single-group teams, hiring more, raising bigger funding, and filing more patents. Their edge comes from diverse networks, global investors, and international connections, showing that cross-cultural collaboration fuels growth and innovation. Check out the article, definitely an interesting read.

Small business grants are opening doors for immigrant founders

Zen Business highlights U.S. programs helping immigrant and minority entrepreneurs access funding, training, and mentorship. From SBA loans to MBDA and state grants, these resources can help grow your business. Check eligibility, prepare a solid plan, and use local support.

Hi [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE], Happy Wednesday from Team Unshackled :) Big update on H-1B visas: The White House published a Proclamation requiring a $100k fee for new H-1B applications, and chaos immediately followed, especially for students and workers planning travel or new applications. Here’s the good news, both the Press Secretary and USCIS confirmed the rule: • Only a one-time $100k fee for new visas • No impact on current H-1B holders or renewals • Will take effect for the 2026...
